Project Update: July 11th, 2008

The Aegistek facility recently planted over 1679 trees located on the south area of our facility. Each company department planted 11different varieties of trees including such species as Longan, Burma Padauk, Orchid, Brown Salwood, Yang Na, Queen's Crape Myrtle, Teak, Pudding Pine, Indian Laburnum, Flame of the Forrest and Makhaa Mong.

Trees absorb carbon dioxide while they grow and trap it for years. It will take around six trees to absorb one tonne of CO2 in areas where we plant, with up to 50% of the absorption occurring within the first 10 years. Trees also help to combat salinity, reduce soil erosion, and provide habitat for wildlife.

Cheval Group of Companies acts to improve environment.

The Cheval Group of Companies is very much aware of global warming and environmental protection and we have been running numerous campaigns to improve our environment. AegisTek, our largest facility, has initiated a project to reduce Carbon dioxide and increase Oxygen by growing 12,000 trees of 11 different varieties, on their surrounding area, which will cover 9600 sq.m.

This project is a long term activity for each department and member of Cheval to grow and take care of their own trees, as each member will cultivate at least 1 tree. Members will be given points from time to time, for each tree they grow and an awards program will reward those with the most points.

Some 700 trees have cultivated since February ' 08 on the east side of AegisTek facility, and the rest of the planned 11,300 trees will be planted to cover the south area by early next year.
