The Cheval Group is pleased to announce that our latest
product development, a Zone 4 Seismic Cabinet, has recently been
tested and certified by the independent test facility, Met Laboratories
Inc., of Union City, California USA.
The cabinet was tested and certified to : "Telcordia Technologies
GR-63-CORE, Issue 2, April 2002, Section 4.4".
The seismic tests subject the cabinet, loaded with 400kg of weight
to simulate actual product, to forces which would be encountered
in a severe earthquake. The tests exert forces on the cabinet along
3 axis, two horizontal and one vertical. The horizontal tests are
side to side and front to rear, while the vertical is up and down.
The cabinet must pass all three axis with less than 3 inches deflection
in any one direction.
The specific version of cabinet tested was a 600 mm wide by 600
mm deep by 44U high. This cabinet was custom designed for a major
IT firm in the USA.
